THE HIKE:

The Silver Cascades Trail is short and quick. It boasts more water features than any other trail I know of.

ROUTES:

Start at Helen Hunt Falls, off North Cheyenne Canyon Road. Look for the staircase on the side of the falls. That’s the start of trail, but it’s not like that the whole way.

The trail goes for 1/3 of a mile. At times it can be steep, but it’s too short to be painful. And it comes complete with handrails, steps, and motivating views.

At the top, it cul-de-sacs into a lookout point. With the falls performing below and Colorado Springs posing in the background, take a seat and enjoy the show.

GOOD TO KNOW:

-There’s a gift shop next to Helen Hunt Falls. That means souvenirs, and that means tourists. So expect some company.

-This is a perfect hike for the whole family or out-of-town guests. It’s safe, and it’s easy.

-The Silver Cascades Trail isn’t something you can brag about hiking. But it’s too beautiful to never hike.
